This activity is a favorite of students and myself too! I mainly use this activity when students need to work on vocabulary. There are different ways this can be done so find a way that works for you and your students.
Students work with a partner. Partner A faces the front of the classroom and partner B sits with their back to the front. Partner B needs to be in a position that they can't see what the teacher will display. The teacher decides what type of round the students will do based on what vocabulary or skill they need to work on.
Option #1: All verbal
Partner A describes the 4-5 words that are displayed on the screen and Partner B guesses them. Partner A can't say any part of the word. Partner A can go in any order, they just need to get Partner B to say all the words.
*For a different variety tell students they can't use hand/arm motions. Here is a video showing this option in class.
Option #2: Drawing Terms
Partner A uses a whiteboard or scrap paper to draw the terms the teacher has listed on the screen. Partner A can't give any verbal clues. Partner B guesses the terms on the screen.
Option #3: Drawing an Image
Partner A describes an image to Partner B who has a whiteboard or scrap paper to draw on. Partner B can't see the screen at all so partner A has to be very detailed with directions so that Partner B draws the same image that is displayed on the screen. It is easier if Partner A can see what Partner B is drawing and more challenging if the image can't be seen by Partner A. I prefer to have Partner B tip their whiteboards up so Partner A can't see what is being drawn. Here is a video showing this option in class.
